Our History
1986
In 1986, Trademark and Patent Agencies were concentrated only in large cities, leaving companies in the interior lacking information on Intellectual Property. We are talking about a time when the internet and cell phones did not exist, and correspondence by post was the best way for companies to communicate. Sensing this gap, that year, VILAGE Marcas e Patentes was founded in São José do Rio Preto with the philosophy of personal service, customizing solutions for each situation and need of our clients.

The ethical, transparent and personal service format was what entrepreneurs in the interior were looking for and naturally the process of growth and opening of new branches ended up happening naturally.
The cities of Ribeirão Preto, Campinas, Bauru, Marília, Presidente Prudente, Piracicaba, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Goiânia, Vitória, Porto Alegre, Caxias, Novo Hamburgo, Curitiba and Manaus have started to receive VILAGE branches in this expansion process.
1995
In the early years, we participated in several events to connect with clients and partners, raise awareness of the importance of trademark and patent registration among the general public, and provide excellent service to everyone. This practice continues to this day.

These events were strategic for our growth, helping us to better understand the market needs and strengthen our network of contacts.
2000
With the advent of the internet, VILAGE launched its website and, within its transparency policy, was the first company to make INPI trademark research files available free of charge to anyone interested. This fact was the subject of a cover story in the Gazeta Mercantil newspaper at the time.

Within the philosophy of VILAGE, promoting Intellectual Property has always been a priority. Through lectures, we seek to guide the general public on the importance of IP for Companies, Individuals, Research Institutions, Associations, etc.
2001
We started our campaign “Recording the new millennium” in 2001, the year we celebrated our 15th anniversary. We went through a significant transformation, increasingly consolidating ourselves as a reference in the market. Since the beginning, we have grown exponentially both in size and in the scope of our services.

Furthermore, we continually invest in the professional development of our team, providing ongoing training to keep our employees up to date with trends and regulatory changes in the field of intellectual property.
2011
VILAGE Marcas e Patentes was certified by BSI Brazil in 2011 in the requirements for operating a Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001. The certification is valid for all our services both in Brazil and abroad.

Our processes are reviewed and audited frequently and undergo a thorough screening of documents by each department, in order to avoid unnecessary requirements, which would generate extra costs and delays in the judgment and obtaining of intellectual property rights.
2012
Given that through VILAGE, clients registered trademarks and patents abroad, our brand began to be recognized in several countries. Thus, to confirm our commitment to quality, we joined INTA-International Trademark Association, a select group of Industrial Property Agents specialized in each country.

From this affiliation, VILAGE began its international expansion process, and in 2012 it definitively set down its roots abroad, opening its first office outside Brazil. Today we have branches in Miami (USA), Beijing (China) and Berlin (Germany).
2017
In 2017, VILAGE launched its exclusive application for clients, a major innovation for companies in the sector. The infoVILAGE brought agility and independence to holders of Intellectual Property processes, who were now able to make immediate decisions about new brands and/or investments in technologies, without having to wait for responses regarding the updated status of their brands, patents, etc. In other words, our clients began to have exclusive access to their processes 24 hours a day and from anywhere.

2024
This year, we carried out our long-awaited visual identity change and brand repositioning. This rebranding brought a more modern, dynamic logo that represents VILAGE’s mission and vision. The update reinforced our commitment to excellence, capturing the essence of who we are.

The slogan “for a less risky world” reflects our purpose: to be a reliable and dedicated consultancy for those seeking to protect their creations. We believe that everything that human beings create or build is a precious asset. And, as such, it deserves to be protected under the law. This new identity represents our adaptation to contemporary market demands and our dedication to continue being leaders in the intellectual property sector.
